Kristen Gadsdon

B.Sc (Physio), Post Graduate Masters Manipulative Therapy (Curtin)

Kristen is the owner of Carine Physiotherapy, she graduated from Curtin University in 1996, initially working in paediatric physiotherapy before moving to the United States for the next several years. In 2001, she returned back to Perth and completed her Post Graduate Masters degree in Manipulative Physiotherapy, undertaking research in the injured lumbar spine that was later published in Spine Journal in 2003.

Kristen returned to the US in 2002 to work for a Chicago based company from which she started her own Practice until April 2008. During her time in the US she worked closely with Neurosurgeons from the Chicago Institute of Neuroresearch and Neurosurgery, and several large Orthopaedic groups and Rheumatologists. There she gained invaluable experience in complicated cases for conservative (non-surgical) management, along with pre and post-operative care for spinal surgeries and orthopaedic cases. Kristen worked casually as an Instructor for the teaching of Australian based physiotherapy (Manual / Manipulative Therapy) in Chicago.

Kristen has a great interest in lumbar and cervical spine injuries, worked with several high school sports teams (Gridiron, Basketball, Swimming, Athletics) in the US, Sports Physical Therapy for the professional Chicago soccer team (Chicago Fire). Provides physiotherapy to many swimmers, kayakers and ski paddlers involved in Surf Life Saving and local sporting groups. Kristen actively competes in Triathlon, Adventure Racing and Mountain Biking.

About Carine Physiotherapy Center

Carine Physiotherapy was taken over by Kristen in 2009 when she decided to return back to Perth after eleven years away from home and has remained since that time. Carine Physiotherapy welcomes patients that suffer basic injuries through to challenging cases. At Carine Physiotherapy, we are firm believers in educating our patients on understanding their symptoms and injuries so they are successful in preventative care and self management for optimal recovery.
